International architecture festival Open returns in 2026, following the theme Mies Didn’t Come Home That Night, exploring the concept of architectural utopia as a tool for future projects.
Hosted by the Aarhus School of Architecture, the sixth edition analyses the ideology of modernism and the next steps for the future of architecture.
During the day festival, more than 50 international contributors share their views through discussions, interviews, exhibitions and artistic interventions happening across six stages.
This year's edition is curated by the head of exhibitions at Aarhus School of Architecture, Karen Kjaergaard, in collaboration with students Aysha Amin, Ida Bjerga and Aria Gilani.
Open26: Mies Didn’t Come Home That Night takes place on 18 September 2026 at the Aarhus School of Architecture, Exners Plads 7, 8000 Aarhus, Denmark.
