During 3 Days of Design 2026, sustainable building materials platform Front organises a showcase of its Mimmik Tile.
According to the brand, the product is the first tile grown with the help of bacteria, using the organisms to bind carbon and calcium into a marble-like, durable material turned into floor tiles.
Inspired by coral, Front encourages architects, developers and contractors to use the material as an alternative to cement, which it claims can reduce emissions by at least 60%.
The Mimmik Tile is developed and produced by sustainable building materials supplier Biomason.
Front – Growing tiles with the help of bacteria takes place from 10 to 12 June 2026 at Kanonbådsvej 8, 1437 Copenhagen, Denmark.
