British designer Es Devlin has created an installation titled Library of the Four Winds on the grounds of Castle Howard, a country house near York, UK.
The installation features a revolving, oval-shaped library displaying 250 books from the designer's personal collection, with excerpts projected onto the piece and a soundscape of Devlin reading every other passage.
The installation commemorates 300 years since the death of the house's architect, John Vanbrugh, and the National Year of Reading.
Library of the Four Winds takes place from 13 June to 27 September 2026 at Castle Howard, York YO60 7DA, UK.
