Algorithmic Sovereignty: Jazz as Source Code
As part of its Marley P. Carroll Symposium Series, the David R. Ravin School of Architecture hosts a two-day conference outlining the influence jazz music can have on design.
Titled Algorithmic Sovereignty: Jazz as Source Code, the talks explore how the experimental nature of jazz can interact with digital tools, such as artificial intelligence.
The event welcomes computational designers, spatial theorists and musicians.
The first day of the symposium takes place at The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts and Culture, with the second day relocating to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s Storrs Salon.
Algorithmic Sovereignty: Jazz as Source Code takes place from 12 to 13 November 2026 at various locations in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
