EKAR has designed Dog / Human in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand.

This project is designed for a dog lover who wants a place to live in harmony with their dogs and to share this joy with others.

The architecture was inspired by the character of a local Nakhon Pathom agricultural building: the low roof design – which corresponds to the scale of chicken and pig – was a unique idea by EKAR.

Cohabitation is a concept that usually gets attention from humans for humans – all while there are many other creatures on earth to be considered. The main urban living idea isolates humans from other creatures on earth.

"This could lead to the misunderstanding that only humans own the world. That idea has been rejected by our project, said EKAR. "All of [our] designs aim to encourage cohabitation. To make us get closer and grow around each other."

This project has been longlisted in the urban house category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
