Friedrich Gerlach, Emil Löber and Sophia Reissenweber created and designed the MFG Mobile Sauna in Halle, Germany.
The MFG project is a mobile sauna that offers a space for relaxation and interdisciplinary exchange for students and teachers at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle.
It provides space for up to four people on its three tiers, creating a unique atmosphere through the translucent polycarbonate panels that erase the boundary between inside and outside.
The foldable drawbar and the lightness of the frame construction make it possible to move the sauna by hand and use the sauna at different locations on the campus – or riverside to actively occupy public spaces in the urban context on a temporary basis.
This project has been longlisted in the small project category of Dezeen Awards 2023.
