3J Generative Space
Joy Choi Arquitecta and A( )VOID have designed the interiors of the 3J Generative Space, an exploration of ergonomic innovation in Macau, China.
This project centres on the idea of preserving the void – a flexible, open space that accommodates diverse activities while offering ergonomic inspiration. Furniture, fixtures and utilities are seamlessly embedded into walls, floors and ceilings, allowing the interior to transform between uncluttered openness and various functional settings.
The space is organised around a horizontal 'waistline': below, rich wood veneer and classical silhouettes honour the owner's heritage in Macau; above, luminous whites and silvers create an abstract, futuristic atmosphere. Upon entry, a gently inclined ramp and informal seating invite dialogue and reflection.
Through this dynamic orchestration of spatial flexibility, adaptable ergonomics and refined material expression, the project becomes a living vessel – one that continually reshapes itself to support creative practice, collaboration and evolving needs, while bridging tradition and future possibilities.
This project has been shortlisted in the office interior category of Dezeen Awards China 2025.
