I.M. PEI Collection for M+
Napp Studio and Architects has designed the I.M. PEI Collection for M+.
I.M. Pei: Life Is Architecture is an exclusive product line developed for I.M. Pei: Life Is Architecture at M+, the first major retrospective solo exhibition of the architect worldwide.
Products and souvenirs for the exhibition were designed to encapsulate I.M. Pei's most notable buildings into everyday objects.
The designs were inspired by various elements, including geometry, material, composition and sensation.
From plans and elevations of the Museum of Chinese Art in Shanghai, transformed into bookmarks, to three-dimensional forms of the Bank of China, rendered as glass vases and the roof plan of the Everson Museum, adapted into wall clocks, the exhibition highlights many iconic parts of his career.
Each object is an abstraction and interpretation of a particular architectural project from his prolific oeuvres, selected to be showcased in the exhibition, while trying to illustrate the architectural essence of each from a fresh perspective through the lens of architecture and product design.
This project has been shortlisted in the product design category of Dezeen Awards China 2025.
