Dezeen x Bentley: Future Luxury Retail Design Competition – terms and conditions

1. General
The organiser of the Competition is Dezeen Limited of 8 Orsman Road, London, N1 5QJ, United Kingdom (Dezeen). The competition is being run in association with and sponsored by Bentley Motors Limited of Pym's Lane, Crewe, CW1 3PL, United Kingdom (Bentley).

BY SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRY, YOU CONFIRM THAT YOU ARE ENTERING INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH DEZEEN AND HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THEM.

2. The competition
2.1 The Dezeen x Bentley: Future Luxury Retail Design Competition (the "Competition") challenges architects and designers to define the future of luxury retail. Entrants are tasked with designing a luxury retail experience for Bentley in 2030. This could be an automotive retail experience – Bentley has committed to electrifying its entire vehicle lineup by this date – or an experience for another sector as the brand pushes into the wider world of contemporary luxury lifestyle with offerings such as its high-end home furnishing range and growing architecture portfolio. Contestants are free to imagine any experience they like – real-world, digital, or a hybrid – for any luxury sector: automotive, fashion, furniture, architecture, hospitality, real estate or any other luxury product or service that Bentley currently offers, or could expand into in future.

3. How to enter
3.1 The competition will run from 10:00 GMT on 22 May 2023 (the "Opening Date") to 23:59 PT on 7 July 2023 (the "Closing Date") inclusive.
3.2 All competition entries must be received by Dezeen by no later than 23:59 PT on the Closing Date. All competition entries received by us after the Closing Date (whether or not they were sent before) will be void.
3.3 Enter the competition online by submitting the online entry form available at www.dezeen.com/bentley-future-luxury-retail-design-competition-entry-form by the Closing Date. No other method of submitting entries will be permitted.
3.4 Dezeen will not accept responsibility for competition entries that are incorrectly submitted regardless of cause, including, for example and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.
3.5 Dezeen's decision as to whether an entrant (or their entry) is eligible for this competition is final and we are not obliged to provide any reasons for disqualification or an entry being deemed void.
3.6 By submitting a competition entry, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any of the terms and conditions, you must not take part.

4. Jury
4.1 Entries will be judged by a jury of Bentley and Dezeen representatives and external industry experts, which will be announced in due course.
4.2 The decision of the jury will be final. Judges will be looking for original and innovative ideas for the future of luxury retail – whether real-world, digital, or a hybrid – for any luxury sector.
4.3 Entries will be judged on the following criteria:
(a) Experience: providing customers with a rich, fulfilling and innovative luxury retail experience;
(b) Brand alignment: drawing from the rich heritage of Bentley's craftsmanship and technological innovation;
(c) Customisation: providing a bespoke and personalised experience for customers; and
(d) Sustainability: reducing and ideally eliminate any negative impact on the environment.

5. Eligibility
5.1 Entrants must be over the age of 18 to enter.
5.2 Entrants may enter more than one design, if they wish. However, entrants will need to fill out and submit a separate entry form for each design they submit.
5.3 Dezeen reserves the right to disqualify an entry if it becomes apparent that a submission is inaccurate or if Dezeen or the jury (in their sole discretion) have any uncertainty about the integrity of the entry.
5.3 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. Dezeen may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition before it will accept your entry.
