Join BASEhabitat for this two-week hands-on course, and learn from the world's leading experts in earthen and bamboo construction.
Regenerative materials not only have a long tradition in human settlement, but they also offer many benefits for contemporary architecture.
The summer school offers very practical know-how in the use of natural building materials such as earth, fibres and bamboo.
Participants can choose two out of four workshops on different materials and construction techniques, including adobe, rammed earth, fibres and bamboo.
The hands-on experience with the materials and gaining a basic understanding of their nature and use is just as important as exploring how regenerative materials can be applied in architecture.
The workshop leaders have a comprehensive knowledge of the application of regenerative materials in architecture. They are also involved in materials research and building standards.
In addition to the workshops, theoretical lectures on materials science also cover this wide spectrum. As cooperation is essential in architecture for change, networking opportunities are an integral part of the programme.
Architects, students, lecturers and craftspeople from all over the world who are interested in sustainable architecture can participate in the course.
The tuition fee is €1920 including accommodation and full board.
