This programme challenges students to innovate all types of vehicles with the Scandinavian design tradition at the centre of the creative process.

The MFA TD programme at Umeå Institute of Design is unique in covering broad, systemic transportation problem areas and their relation to the mobility industry worldwide.

The programme puts emphasis on understanding the users' interests and needs as a key to successful products, as well as developing specific knowledge in areas like presentation techniques, strategic design, visual storytelling, and physical and digital development.

As the planet grapples with population growth and environmental problems, this programme provides students with the know-how to spark sustainable innovation.

Through projects carried out in collaboration with external partners, the short-term goal is to develop skills to create competent products that appeal to the hearts and minds of people.
