Hong Kong's M+ Museum presents the Nakagin and Kiyotomo: Architectural Icons from Tokyo, 1970s–1980s exhibition, showcasing a capsule that once made up the Kurokawa Kisho’s Nakagin Capsule Tower.
Located in Tokyo, 140 capsules formed the tower and were used as residences and office spaces until the building was no longer functioning in the early 2000s.
The tower was designed inline with the style of the 1960s Metabolism architectural movement popular in Japan.
Nakagin and Kiyotomo: Architectural Icons from Tokyo, 1970s–1980s takes place from 2 November 2024 to 28 February 2026 at East Galleries, L2, M+ Museum, West Kowloon Cultural District, 38 Museum Drive, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
