The Abwab exhibition showcases a winning pavilion following submissions from over 180 designers. This year, following the theme In the Details, the exhibition spotlights textiles, narrative and architecture of ornaments.

The winning pavilion on display is by Maraj, a Bahrain-based architecture and design platform founded by designers Latifa Alkhayat and Maryam Aljomairi.

The installation, titled Stories of the Isle and the Inlet, explores the Nabih Saleh island in Bahrain through ornaments and oral history.

The programme saw submissions by designers from Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, India, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and the UAE.

The pavilion is on display during Dubai Design Week 2025.

Abwab takes place from 4 to 9 November 2025 at Dubai Design District (d3), Dubai, UAE.
