Design fair Matterial Matters hosts its inaugural Assemble conference, presenting a series of keynotes, panel discussions, live demonstrations and networking opportunities.

The day-long programme explores how material intelligence and regenerative design can support the economy, which is reflected in the event venue, the Bank of England.

Topics include fashion, transport and housing for an audience of architects, designers, material experts, academics and policy-makers.

Following the conference, the museum at the Bank of England hosts an evening exhibition spotlighting the work of five designers exploring the use of waste materials and natural fibres.
