Chatai is a wooden pavilion on display in Dubai during the city's design week, created by Japanese architecture studio Nikken Sekkei, in collaboration with construction firm Sobokuya.

The installation is informed by Chashitsu, a Japanese tea room, and Yatai, a street stall, celebrating the nation's culture and hospitality.

Inside the pavilion, visitors can find a limited-edition gift book that displays Japanese landscapes, created by interdisciplinary design studio Abjad.

Chatai by Nikken Sekkei takes place from 4 to 9 November 2025 at Dubai Design District (d3), Dubai, UAE.
