Created for prospective principal designers, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) hosts an online course providing guidance on the skills required in the role.
The course focuses on expertise related to the Construction (Design and Management) Regulation and the Building Regulations, suitable for working on domestic and commercial projects.
The course comprises seven modules: Introduction and Course Overview; The Principal Designer role (CDM); The Principal Designer role (Building Regulations); The Principal Designer role (CDM and Building Regulations) – Domestic Clients; Applying the principles; Building Safety Act – Higher-Risk Buildings; and Appointments, Competence and Compliance.
