Fragile lighting collection by Jaume Ramírez for Marset
Designer Jaume Ramírez’s Fragile table lamp for Marset has been expanded into a wider lighting collection, turning its geometric glass form into a repeatable element for chandeliers, wall lights and pendants.
“Fragile began with a fascination for an archetype: the table lamp, and the relationship between glass and light,” said Marset. “A cone and a sphere surround a luminous cylinder, distilling the design into a few essential geometric forms while revealing the glow within.”
Ramírez and Marset have continued exploring the Fragile universe since the launch of the table lamp in 2023, finding that by reducing its proportions it could be repeated, grouped and composed at different scales.
In multiples, the playful side of the design comes to the fore, as the base elements of the sphere and cone can be removed, inverted or reordered to put an intriguing spin on the classic form.
The Fragile chandelier incorporates a contrastingly robust aluminium structure and can accommodate either three, six or nine individual lamps, while the pendant can be grouped in clusters of up to 19 using the accompanying fitting.
The collection is available in a choice of three finishes and two colour temperatures, either 2200K or 2700K.
