Dezeen promotion: we’ve teamed up with Gestalten to highlight their series of podcast interviews with leading designers, starting with two video interviews with Jaime Hayon.

The first interview (above), filmed at the Light + Building show Frankfurt in April, features Hayon and the launch of three new collections of large-scale lamps, called Bastoni, America and Solids, for the Spanish lighting brand Metalarte. He talks about his new pieces and his creative process. View the first movie »

The second interview, filmed at Spazio Rosanna Orlandi in Milan last month, features Hayon’s Fantasy collection for Spanish porcelain brand Lladró (above) alongside the shoes he designed for Camper and his new monograph Jaime Hayon Works (below), which is published by Gestalten. The movie also features footage of Hayon’s Jet Set piece for Bisazza (bottom image). View the second movie »

is Jaime Hayon the owner or Dezeen?….I mean he is great but like 15 post in the last month, plus designer of the month, plus free books of his firm….
May 11th, 2008 at 11:43 pmat least he’s kind of cute
May 12th, 2008 at 6:14 amHe is a rising star using the same communication process as Starck and Wanders international design stars …
May 12th, 2008 at 8:31 amor… this is a collaboration between Dezeen - who publish loads of his stuff, sure, but that is perhaps a reflection of his output and popularity - and Gestalten - who just launched his book and their online TV featuring him first up. Not much he can do about it I guess…
May 12th, 2008 at 9:00 amComparing Hayon to Starck or Wanders?
W H A T ?!
Ok… Hayon is pretty good, but Starck and Wanders are design genious, specially Starck.
Hayon is just another designer that was luck enough - or smart enough - to take advantage of his previous Fabrica position. Starck is from another championship!
Cheers!
May 12th, 2008 at 9:51 amLUCK ? I WAS IN FABRICA IN 98 AND HAYON WAS ALL WAYS AHEAD …SORRY MR ZENZA … NEED MORE CULTURE BEFORE TALKING .
May 12th, 2008 at 3:04 pmBY THE TIME HE WILL BE THE AGE OF STARK OR MARCEL WE TALK AGAIN + HE IS A DOWN TO EARTH PERSON .

May 12th, 2008 at 5:50 pmseriously, i wouldn’t trust a designer with sculpted facial hair but maybe that’s just me.
