    except this design is dead…

  4. zuy Says:

i like the moore chair but the first version

  5. neogejo Says:

    Very bourgeois, very Starck

  6. zuy Says:

i think Starck is a bobo and his tribu as he said is bobo more than bourgeois…bourgeois is for confortable armless…i think it’s for some restaurants as Bon, an other business of Starck in Paris(2), Moscow…aso

  7. zuy Says:

it’s very close his Cassina collection and Massaud works for Charme holding

  8. zuy Says:

  9. Tyler P. Says:

Umm, I’ve lost my perception about this guy suppose after his design prophecy (more or less linked with this collection)_ Anyway it’s a kind of designers I will always adore ;-)

  10. zuy Says:

    always adore is addiction
see the blog of a malaysian following and living with starck thinks and
    things…
funny : Ting mixed sometimes images from wanders and starck…it’ was the same communication stategy…so Starck is changing with his new wife, director of communication (ex LVMH)…more buzz “design is dead”, new trendy territory: substainable design: “democratisation of green” after democratisation of plastic chair…

  11. Will Says:

Not my taste but Starck is a genius and this is for a particular market. Anyone who doubts the man should catch the documentary on the Business Channel.

  12. tiffany Says:

He is a genius for sure, but with this he proofs his days are over…….

  13. vivek Says:

grow up…mr starck..just changing materials is not a new design…

  14. verner Says:

i can find an association to ludwig’s (mies van der rohe) collection for german pavillion in barcelona, don’t you think? Sorry Phillipe but Moore is a bit exaggerate.

  15. Frank Says:

Hello Dezeen and Hello to everyone ! :)

Ok, Hi ZUY, Are you french?, I think so …
Myself, I am French designer, I like Starck in addition to being a designer is a great entrepreneur, I think it is better to look at your work before you insult one another. Whether Starck or another French designer or another nationality, I think you need to ask the right question, what are you worth up ??!!
For me, I love Starck, and it has nothing to prove. I love the creation of any nationality, long live freedom to create!

    Frank – designer

  16. sluggo Says:

What happened to his “end of design” This is the worst, please stop designing things. As for his “genius” please look at back issues of plaisir de france from the forties and fifties for his “inspiration” for interiors and furniture. His only genius may be in marketing and in that, he is brilliant.

  17. Alexandre Says:

    c’est raté!

  18. zuy Says:

you’re right, Verner …Starck or Massaud are Mies Van der Rohe ’s son…but they have others parents in design
Vivek, a designer or a manufacturer can change the material of of a Starck product( Driade) , the sizes ( Kartell, Alessi,XO ), the colors…
Here it is too be more coherent in a collection…

  19. Frank Says:

Hello Dezeen and Hello to everyone !

Zuy Yo !> Zuy :”you’re right, Verner… Starck or Massaud are Mies Van der Rohe ’s son… ???? :o “. Mmmmmmm, It’s incredible !!!!, Is true ? And you Zuy You are the son of who? :o

  20. Ziad Says:

I find that the monseigneur is realy a shocking change in Starck’s style in conceiving designs. I think, that he managed to unite past and future, in a lovely way. The combination of stainless steel and wood created a unic kind of chairs. U like this chair or not, i think that it has enter the history of chairs.

  21. yoyo Says:

    muy mal, muy mal

  22. Frankie Says:

Looks to me like a midlife crisis manifested in furniture .

Bad work or not Starck still remains a genious . I don’t know another living designer who can talk about and commincate their work at such a high level.

  23. Fling Says:

Argumenrs aside, it is a fact that there is no other european designer that one would rather see furnish with wonderful wipe clean surfaces the contemporary hotel that one goes to pick up high quality prostitutes.

  24. zuy Says:

“natural son” of Starck then adopted by Wanders…but now i’m a kidadult
    http://www.wethinkthebook.net/cms/site/images/we-think1.jpg

  25. zuy Says:

I learned design in a Starck’s book with his hand drawings , i was an addict….I insult nobody, it’s only a comment about a piece of wood and steel, that’s all ….I told this design is not coherent, not confortable, not iconic , it’s not Starck ….except Moore chair ….

  26. zuy Says:

The leather version of Moore was for Le Méridien hotel in Los Angeles …

  27. zuy Says:

… and here a lot of commentators did like the space design of the hotel…
it’s the same for the furniture design…

  28. Joaquin Says:

They’re quite ok, though. There’s a big difference between good designers and great designers. The great ones they follow their own ego. There’s nothing wrong or right abt them anymore.

  29. frank Says:

Hello Dezeen and Hello to everyone !

Ok no problems Zuy….. But most look around us, ecological problems, famine, poverty, wars ….. I sincerely believe that there are more serious and elsewhere to discuss, to provide solutions, on a chair Starck or other……… I think Starck does not care about criticism, it is … I think what you say is not my job advanced design … I prefer to respect the work of others have my own conviction and advanced with my personality because I am not the son of Starck !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think the Design in 2008 footprint fewer references for different reasons … Because society is rapidly changing economic, human, technological …
    Good day ! ;) Thanks !

  30. zuy Says:

    I’m not an addict, i’m not a sniper too…i’m a free commentator…
I respect the work of designers … it quite difficult …Some of them are free. Starck is free as he selected 10% of his clients….He never worked for the 90% of the world…Green is new for him !!!
I think also Starck does not care about criticism ,he is looking for free media cover for his brands…and clients.

  31. leandro locsin Says:

    bogus work for starck

  32. El Greco Says:

Oh I get it, he’s f**king kidding right?

Someone at Driade should be fired.

  33. Frank Says:

Hello Dezeen and to everyone !

I think you should go talk to you Starck for emptying your anger !
and he will certainly say to you <>
    Bad Boy…

    ;) Thanks, Frank

  34. Frank Says:

I think you should go talk to you Starck for emptying your anger !

And he will certainly say to you “Hey my guy(Zuy), you know I have make my first chair when you still had milk behind your ears”
    Bad Boy…

    ;) Thanks, Frank

  35. zuy Says:

    leabdro explain bogus work ?

  36. zuy Says:

More clear than Starck’s messages on the theme
Yves Behar : Every single project we currently work on has an element of sustainability and/or social responsibility, this is very different from even 2-3 years ago. What has been very interesting is that traditionally a green message was easier to build into smaller start-up style projects, but today we are working on large corporate efforts where design and sustainability are central to the problem at hand. Some of the changes we can make as designers on mainstream consumption products have a great impact because of the shear scale these products are manufactured in.

I do think that design has many creative answers to current challenges, and many different tools exist to sustainability. So the key is for designers to use the many different avenues to affect true change.

  37. zuy Says:

    PARIS: DESIGNER’S DAY

  38. Frank Says:

Hello Dezeen and to everyone !

My politeness compels me to respond in French to ZUY, escusez me

    Salut ZUY,

Bref, a+ Frank

  40. zuy Says:

Mdr. a+ Frk

  43. zuy Says:

  44. zuy Says:

Do you have objects, furniture or lighting during the Designer’s Day in Paris ?Not only in the official members of designer’s day.
I noticed, in an israelian blog, than Saazs has innovative lighting….in Paris..with Arik Levy and some others greats designers.
I noticed also than Ingo Maurer will be exhibited in Paris….very near some Designer’s days members.

  53. headplow Says:

I’ve got to say this is just embarrassingly ugly. Mr Starck has done some brilliant work in the past but this . . .
As we were taught in school I believe you are only as good as your most recent work. If Monseigneur is his most recent work, well you figure it out.

  54. zuy Says:

headplow, Starck is not at School never teacher now but sometimes star designers did bad student work why? time ? inspiration? team?

  55. hola Says:

    I like it… I don’t

The question is, stark is definitely a debate in himself!
