Dan Howarth is Dezeen's former US editor. With a background in architecture, he moved into journalism after university and interned at Dezeen before becoming a full-time member of the editorial team in June 2012.

Dan was promoted to design editor in 2014, when he was responsible for all of Dezeen's design content, then appointed deputy editor in 2015. That year, Dan was shortlisted for PPA Writer of the Year and PPA Digital Writer of the Year awards.

After helping to set up Dezeen's New York office in May 2015, Dan relocated there in March 2016, and led the team covering architecture and design across the Americas as US editor.

Dan now contributes to Dezeen on a freelance basis.
