Next up in our review of the year are Dezeen's most popular stories from April. In pole position is Herzog & de Meuron’s extension to the Tate Modern art gallery in London.

Third most viewed was our story showing images of the completed New Acropolis Museum in Athens, Greece, designed by Bernard Tschumi Architects.

Fourth most popular was the design for this year’s Serpentine Gallery Pavilion in London, revealed by Japanese architects SANAA. See photographs of the completed pavilion, which opened in June, here.
