2008 review: September

Here are the five most popular Dezeen stories from September 2008, kicking off with vases made from unwanted books by graduate designer Laura Cahill.


Second most clicked-on was 56 Leonard Street, a 56-storey residential tower in New York designed by architects Herzog & de Meuron.


Third was Virtual Realities - a series of images presented by Dutch architects NL in the Italian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale.


Fourth was 23 East 22nd Street tower by Office for Metropolitan Architecture, a 24-storey residential tower in New York.


Fifth was  a story about new buildings by Japanese architects SANAA and Chilean architect Alejandro Aravena, under construction at the Vitra Campus at Weil am Rhein in Germany.
