Discipline's 2014 collection includes an apple-shaped desk tidy
Milan 2014: the latest collection from Italian design brand Discipline includes chopping boards that look like pebbles and a desk tidy object that resembles an apple.
Discipline's products are manufactured in Italy using natural materials, and its 2014 collection incorporates eucalyptus wood, bone china and stone.
The brand, which works with several international designers and studios, presented the results of several new collaborations at its Milan showroom during the city's design week last month.
Norwegian designer Lars Beller Fjetland developed an apple-shaped desk object made from cork and leather left over from Discipline's production process that can be used as a paperweight or to pin notes and messages to.
Beller Fjetland also designed a low table called Maya that combines a travertine stone top with three angled oak legs, and the Touchwood chair, which features a seat and back made from a single piece of bent wood mounted on simple wooden legs.
Spanish studio Lievore Altherr Molina created the Sila series of chairs, tables and stools, which combine eucalyptus wood with legs in metal or a range of wooden materials.
Paris designer Pauline Deltour created Super Bag, which is made from canvas with a piece of coloured leather wrapped around the sides and bottom.
Deltour also created a two-tone cork money tray and a series of bone china bowls with coloured interiors.
Discipline also showed products by designers it has worked with previously, including Ichiro Iwasaki's Cup Collection of bowls, vases and containers in colourful glass or bone china.
New York designer Nao Tamura developed the Sasso series of wood and marble cutting boards with smooth rounded shapes that resemble pebbles.
London designer Max Lamb added a coffee table to his Last Stool collection, which is made from enamelled steel.
The latest products join those launched by Discipline over the past two years. The 2013 collection featured candleholders made from curving metal strips that pinch the base of a candle, while the inaugural collection in 2012 included stools with wooden legs and cork seats by Ichiro Iwasaki.
