Form Us With Love elevates Nest furniture on slim metal legs

Stockholm 2016: Swedish design studio Form Us With Love has elevated club-style armchairs on slender frames to create a set of raised seats for Danish brand +Halle.

The Nest collection was designed to combine the best elements of fabric-upholstered chairs and high-seated stools.

The studio looked to tennis umpires' chairs and other types of pedestals to inform the products, which can also act as dividers in large spaces.

"We analysed the activities and behaviours of public spaces, and the upholstered furniture versus bar-stool seating scenario," said Form Us With Love creative director John Löfgren. "Instead of putting the two characteristics next to one another, we merged them – creating a tall vertical Nest."

These high chairs also come as shorter versions, with the same bodies but cropped metal legs. Both feature padded seats and a back that wraps around to form arms.

The range also includes accompanying tables with rounded lacquered tops, sized for both seat heights. The taller tables include loop-shaped bars that connect the four legs and provide a footrest – matching the stools.

"We believe that a comfortable high seat is an interesting addition, providing the opportunity to sit longer at a tall table," said Form Us With Love CEO, Jonas Pettersson.

The Nest collection was presented by +Halle at Stockholm Furniture Fair 2016 last month. Form Us With Love also added wood-effect acoustic panels to its Baux architectural products line at the event, continuing the trend for noise-reducing Scandinavian design.

The fair took place during this year's Stockholm Design Week, from 8 to 13 February 2016, when Form Us With Love also held a retrospective exhibition to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
