The two brands chose a set of metal chairs from Hay's range to join the edited furniture and homeware line available at selected COS stores.

The designs comprise frames bent from rounded bars, with thinner horizontal rods spaced evenly to fill in the seat and back. Items from the Bouroullec brothers' Palissade set of slatted metal outdoor furniture were also chosen to join the range.

"We felt the garden furniture was a great addition to the existing range, and like the industrial and functional feel of the pieces," COS creative director Karin Gustafsson told Dezeen.

Other items for the garden were added to the collections, including flower pots and accessories for outdoor dining such as trays, bowls and carafes.

The colour palette mainly consists of yellow, green and grey shades, while materials like light wood and cork were also selected.

COS and Hay began their collaboration in August 2015, when COS debuted the first set of items curated from Hay's collection in three of its European stores. This first range included a pair of folding wooden tables by Spanish designer Tomas Alonso.

The outdoor chairs will be exclusively stocked at High Street Kensington, priced at £175 each.

COS frequently teams up with architects and designers on projects. In the past year the brand has worked with Sou Fujimoto on an installation of spotlights in Milan, Laetitia de Allegri and Matteo Fogale on store window displays, and Snarkitecture on a pop-up shop.
