This week, Huawei unveiled a foldable smartphone

This week on Dezeen, we revealed Huawei's Mate X folding smartphone, which has a flexible screen that bends around the exterior of the device.

According to Huawei, the Mate X "defines a new category of mobile devices" by way of its thin screen that can be folded in half, allowing it to be used as either a tablet or smartphone.

The announcement came less than a week after the Chinese tech giant's rival Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Fold device, which unfolds "like a book".

Developers pulled the plug on Foster + Partners Red Hoek Point office complex planned for Brooklyn's waterfront, and instead earmarked the site for industrial warehouses.

Architecture firms Gensler, HDR and Luis Vidal also revealed their design for a T-shaped terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport, billed as a "new gateway for the region".
