Dezeen Showroom: Italian brand Fornasetti has unveiled a range of furniture and lighting for the living room that is covered in unpublished sketches and handwritten messages drawn by the brand's founder, Piero Fornasetti.
Named Solitario, the design forms part of the brand's Unusual Living Rooms collection. Solitario consists of a range of handmade furniture and accessories, each covered with playful drawings of suns with human faces by Piero Fornasetti.
"The creative insight behind the Solitario living room is hidden in the pages of two small handwritten booklets by Piero Fornasetti," said the brand.
"Unpublished drawings and handwritten messages come together in a black and white aesthetic that gives rooms an elegant atmosphere tinged with irresistible hints of irony."
The upholstered pieces of furniture – sofa, bench and armchair – are available with black drawings on white fabric, white on black, or a grey option. The two tables have screen-printed and varnished tops, with the large table available in white and the smaller side table in black.
Both the floor lamp and table lamp, as well as the square mirror, are available in ivory with black drawings, while the colours on the circular mirror are inverted.
