Dezeen Showroom launches with products from Vitra, Hem, Luceplan and Maruni
Dezeen Showroom has launched today featuring furniture and lighting products by designers including Jasper Morrison, Stephen Burks, Faye Toogood, Naoto Fukasawa and Barber Osgerby.
Dezeen Showroom is a new affordable space for brands to launch products and showcase their designers and projects to Dezeen's huge global audience.
For today's launch, Vitra presents Tip Ton RE, a recycled-plastic version of the brand's popular tiltable chair by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby.
The Swiss furniture brand worked with Barber and Osgerby to develop the new version of the chair, which is made from recycled household waste and is available in grey – the natural colour of the recycled material.
Swedish furniture brand Hem showcases its Puffy Lounge Chair by Faye Toogood.
The chair features plump detachable upholstery in a range of neutral shades, which is draped over a powder-coated steel frame to create a chair that aims to create "all the enveloping warmth of a familiar duvet."
Italian lighting brand Luceplan presents Trypta by Stephen Burks, which forms part of the brand's The Lights of Silence collection of acoustic lighting products.
Trypta is a system of suspension lights comprising three acoustic panels positioned at 120 degrees around a vertical aluminium tube with dimmable LEDs at each end providing both direct and ambient light.
Japanese design brand Maruni showcases two collections named after marine creatures, including the Tako furniture collection designed by its longtime art director Naoto Fukasawa.
Named after the Japanese word for octopus, the collection comprises an armchair and a matching dining table with slender, curving legs that resemble tentacles.
The brand also presents its Fugo collection of chairs and coffee tables by Jasper Morrison, which is named after the Japanese word for a species of pufferfish.
The five products launched on Dezeen Showroom today will be joined by a host of furniture, lighting, finishes and flooring over the coming weeks.
Upcoming brands include &tradition, Andreu World, James Burleigh, Geberit, Moebe, Voltra Lighting, Clayworks and Object Carpet.
