Dezeen Showroom: architecture studio Teresa Sapey + Partners has designed the Costuras pouf collection, created for outdoor brand Diabla.

The Costuras poufs come in two versions – one round, one square – and are distinguished by their contrast stitching, which slightly recalls the look of a baseball.

"Without losing the simplicity and versatility of the product, we have opted to reinvent its essential elements, often hidden, and give them more prominence," said Sapey. "That is why the seams become important."

The Costuras collection is upholstered in waterproof, textured fabric that can withstand the outdoors, although it could also be used indoors in the living room or a children's room.

The upholstery is available in a wide variety of colours, each matched to a contrasting or complementary stitching hue that brings an element of surprise to any space.

The cover is removable for easy washing, and the pouf is comfortable and easy to move around.
