Future Mobility Competition powered by Arrival graphics

Only two weeks left to enter Dezeen's Future Mobility Competition powered by Arrival

There are just two weeks left to enter our Future Mobility Competition powered by Arrival, which seeks innovative mobility solutions that reimagine the future of transportation. Enter now before the contest closes for entries on 14 April.

The Future Mobility Competition is a global design contest that calls for new mobility solutions that radically impact our planet to create true sustainability and empower local communities long into the future.

The competition asks entrants to identify problems with mobility in a city they live in or are familiar with and propose solutions that will improve how people move around their environment – for either land, sea or air.

Proposals can evolve existing methods of transportation or identify entirely new solutions for the future of mobility.

The contest, which is in partnership with electric vehicle company Arrival, is free to enter for anyone over the age of 18 of any profession and from any country in the world.

Entries will be assessed by expert panel of judges

The competition entries will be assessed by a panel of expert judges comprising Kunlé Adeyemi of architecture, design and urbanism studio NLÉ, Elizabeth Diller of New York studio Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Yves Béhar of Fuseproject and Daniel Simon, best known for his work on feature films such as Tron: Legacy, Oblivion and Star Wars VIII.

They will be joined by Jeremy Offer and Martina Wierzbicki from Arrival and Marcus Fairs and Cajsa Carlson from Dezeen.

The ten best proposals selected by the judges will be revealed over two weeks on Dezeen in June 2022.

A top prize of $25,000 will be awarded for first place, $15,000 for second place, $10,000 for third place and $5,000 each for the seven remaining finalists selected by the judging panel.

How to enter

Entrants must produce visualisations depicting their concepts within their urban environment, along with supporting text to explain the problem the design seeks to solve and how the concept accomplishes this.

Entrants should refer to Arrival's approach to designing and manufacturing vehicles as a starting point and inspiration, which is focused on centering country, city and community-specific needs related to transportation and the future of mobility.
