Dezeen Showroom: Regent is a high-backed chair from British office furniture brand Connection designed to give the user a chance to escape the distractions of an open-plan workplace.

Regent by Connection forms part of the firm's "Resimercial" collection launched since the coronavirus pandemic, which is defined by soft fabrics, warm colour palettes and natural materials like those commonly found in the home.

It is intended to be a statement piece with a high back and wraparound wings.

The shape provides partial visual and acoustic privacy to allow the user a moment of relaxation or focus amid the comings and goings of an open-plan office.

Sitting on a four-star wooden leg base and with thickly padded upholstery, the Regent has a warm and inviting look.

The product is an update to Connection's Mae chair aimed to better suit the current-day workplace with a more homely aesthetic.

A complementing footstool is also available.
