Dezeen Showroom: American brand Yellow Goat Design has launched the Abstract Nature collection of sculptural lighting, which is informed by details from nature such as the underside of mushrooms.

According to Yellow Goat Design, the Abstract Nature collection of pendants, screens and chandeliers celebrate the "unusual beauty" of nature.

The collection includes Estuary, a vertical pendant comprised of softly curved plywood panels that are designed to recall the energy of streams of water.

Pileus is a pendant cluster made up of soft toadstool-like shapes, while the Canopy pendant has a curved lampshade with a textured finish that is gently lit from within.

Another fungi-inspired design is Lamella, an oversized pendant made from lightweight Tyvek panels folded into a shape designed by Yellow Goat Design to evoke the feeling of being under a mushroom cap.

"Abstract Nature speaks to the experience of discovery and finding beauty in the slowed-down details," said Yellow Goat Design.

"The designs mirror natural wonders, from the gills found under the mushroom cap to the humble terraces carved into hillsides."
