Dezeen x Gaggenau Architecture Project Talks

Dezeen and Gaggenau present online lecture series about spectacular houses

Dezeen has partnered with Gaggenau to present a series of Architecture Project Talks featuring eye-catching houses in unique locations around the world.

The three webinars, which count towards continuing professional development (CPD) points for UK architects, will feature Mold Architects' NCaved house, Dan Mitchell and Patisandhika Sidarta's A Brutalist Tropical Home and CmDesign Atelier's Coral Pavilion.

Located on the Greek island of Serifos, NCaved is a wedge-shaped house that has been carved into a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Architect Iliana Kerestetzi, founder of the Athens-based Mold Architects, designed the building to maximise sea views while sheltering it from strong winds.

A Brutalist Tropical Home in Bali by Patisandhika and Dan Mitchell

A Brutalist Tropical Home in Bali is a 512-square-metre house located in a small valley nestled among rice fields on the Indonesian island of Bali.

Patisandhika Sidarta, co-founder of Indonesia architecture studio Sidarta and Sandjaja, and Mitchell of Balinese hospitality brand Potato Head will discuss the challenges presented by the island's hot climate and the solutions designed in response to it.

Coral Pavilion by CmDesign Atelier

Tosin Oshinowo, principal designer at Lagos studio CmDesign Atelier, will deliver a lecture about Coral Pavilion – a minimalist beach house that is accessible only by boat.

Oshinowo will give an in-depth presentation about the project's design and delivery process, as well as the use of materials to create a serene space that acts as a refuge from nearby Lagos' "frenetic energy".
