Dezeen Showroom: architect Ramón Esteve looked to the luxury of New York holiday homes with the Hamptons outdoor furniture collection, created for Spanish brand Vondom.

The Hamptons collection includes a lounge chair, sofa, ottoman and coffee table.

The range is distinguished by its natural palette and subtly striped slung fabric seating, which looks as though it belongs on a beach.

"Its striped patterns take us directly to the sand on which we are reminded of hammocks and ephemeral constructions built from simple crossbeams and stretched fabrics that we can feel vibrating in the breeze," said Vondom.

Esteve was informed by the aesthetic of the Hamptons, the Long Island destination of F Scott Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby.

Esteve aimed to translate the book's sense of intrigue and luxury into the collection, which features frames made of slender overlapping rods of warm wood and milky, powder-coated aluminium.
