Palermo floor tiles by Grespania

Dezeen Showroom: Spanish ceramics manufacturer Grespania has released a range of porcelain flooring tiles that are designed to imitate the muted hues and minimal white veining of Augustus Grey marble from Central Asia.

The Palermo range is available in three understated colours – bone, grey and taupe – designed to evoke a sense of quiet luxury while offering a more resilient alternative to traditional marble.

"Enhancing the beauty of marble with all the advantages of porcelain, Palermo is robust and resistant," says Jordi Albella, managing director of Grespania UK.

The tiles are available in four rectangular formats as well as a long rectangular shape for laying herringbone patterns. Two different mesh-backed mosaics – the evenly gridded Siracuse and irregular Lacio – are also available.

To create a seamless look, Palermo is also available in a wall tile version in ivory or greige.
