Dezeen Showroom: a couple of long-forgotten notebooks filled with sketches informed Italian brand Fornasetti's Facciata Quattrocentesca furniture range.

The Facciata Quattrocentesca range – which is part of Fornasetti's Unusual Living Rooms collection – includes a two-seat sofa, floor lamp, mirror, coffee table, side table, umbrella stand and waste-paper bin.

Designed to demonstrate "geometrical rigour", each item boasts a graphic triangle print and features rows of porthole or arch-shaped windows that sit on ornately-patterned borders.

These motifs were taken from two small notebooks that were discovered in Fornasetti's archives, each filled with previously-unseen drawings by the brand's founder, Piero Fornasetti.

Through incorporating the sketches in the range, the brand hopes to pay homage to the stylistic line drawings that have come to define Fornasetti's products.

Some of the pieces, like the floor lamp and umbrella stand, feature gold brass detailing. Other pieces, like the tables, balance on bright-blue legs crafted from iron.

Most of the items come in a bold black and ivory-white colourway, but the sofa is also available with rich oche-yellow upholstery.
