Spanish studio Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura is designing Utamo as part of Neom in Saudi Arabia, which was described as a “theatre of the future”.

Commenters had mixed opinions; one expressed that “something is thrilling in the implementation of visionary talent” after “setting aside the controversies surrounding Neom”. Another asked, “Would the old Bofill have taken part in such a charade?”

Other stories in this week’s newsletter that fired up the comments section included an exclusive film by Dezeen where Eric Owen Moss describes his design approach to constructing the (W)rapper office, a 190-metre-tall residential timber tower by Fraser & Partners and visuals of the Qiddiya City Esports Arena by Populous.
