Jay Osgerby

Designer Jay Osgerby is the co-founder of London-based industrial design studio Barber Osgerby with designer Edward Barber.

The studio is known for its use of experimentation when approaching materiality and colour. Notable projects by the duo include the Loop Table for British manufacturer Isokon, Soft Work for furniture brand Vitra, the 2012 Olympic Torch, and a £2 coin for the 150th anniversary of London Underground.

Designers Barber and Osgerby have received numerous accolades, including the Jerwood Prize in 2004 and Royal Designers for Industry status in 2007. They were also appointed to the Order of the British Empire in 2013 and awarded the London Design Medal in 2015.

Their work is featured in permanent collections worldwide, including the V&A, Design Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Art Institute of Chicago, Centre Pompidou, the Olympic Museum and Vitra Design Museum.

Barber and Osgerby are also co-founders of Universal Design Studio, a design consultancy focused on architecture, interiors, and exhibition design. In 2012, they launched Map Project Office, a strategy-based industrial design consultancy.
