The Capital Brutalism exhibition examines the heritage and future of seven controversial buildings in Washington DC, as well as the city's WMATA Metro system.
Archival documents, drawings, construction photographs, architectural models and contemporary photographs are displayed to provide in-depth context and tell the stories of the buildings.
Reimagined versions of a selection of buildings have been created by various eminent architecture firms such as Studio Gang, Brooks + Scarpa, Diller Scofidio + Renfro, Gensler and BLDUS, alongside work by students from the School of Architecture at University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Capital Brutalism takes place from 1 June 2024 to 30 June 2025 at the National Building Museum, 401 F Street NW, Washington, DC 20001, USA.
