The future of interactive and extended realities (XR) is reshaping how we engage with digital and physical spaces. By superimposing digital information on the real world, we go beyond augmented and virtual reality, presenting new opportunities for immersive storytelling, interactive navigation and spatial experiences.

Applications include learning, guidance, entertainment and more.

In this course, you'll explore XR and spatial computing as a design medium, by sketching, prototyping and refining experiences that seamlessly blend digital and physical environments. Working in teams, you'll create interactive digital pathways, augmented landmarks and dynamic storytelling elements that guide users across physical environments.

You'll learn key design principles for interactive and immersive XR experiences, how to use 3D asset libraries and game engines in prototyping and methods for testing and refining experiences through rapid feedback loops.

This course is open to all skill levels – no previous knowledge or specific software is required.

'Immersive Experiences' is part of CIID pop-up schools, which combine hands-on learning, prototyping and innovation to bring transformative learning to people around the globe. Led by experts from CIID's extraordinary global community, these week-long courses welcome professionals and students of all backgrounds.
