Studio Nada Debs has designed Qosh, a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Uzbek tapchan.
Qosh is a contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional Uzbek tapchan, designed for the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation (ACDF).
Created in collaboration with master craftsman Sirojiddin Rakhmatillaev, the piece fuses age-old craftsmanship with modern design sensibilities.
Rooted in tradition yet reimagined for today, Qosh brings a fresh perspective to communal outdoor seating, celebrating cultural heritage while embracing contemporary aesthetics.
Targeted at design-conscious audiences, cultural institutions and communities seeking innovative ways to preserve tradition, Qosh is both a tribute to and an evolution of the iconic tapchan.
This project has been longlisted in the bespoke design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
