Omer Arbel has designed 141 for Bocci, a cluster of puddle-like glass pieces made from hot glass into a lighting series.
The organic 141 is intended to be hung as a single element or in clusters, with the irregular shapes in conversation with one another.
The creation process was crafted by pouring two ladlefuls of hot glass freehand over a curved rod to create two overlapping puddles before the rod is lifted and the puddles wing out into an unpredictable shape in a gesture that is once simple and cinematic.
Then, the rod is replaced with matte nickel hardware that acts as the light source, pouring an LED glow through the glass, creating an ambient and sculptural fixture.
As a result, the 141 is distinguished by its single-action process, an evolution of Bocci's experimental approach to design.
This project has been shortlisted in the lighting design category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
