Uzbekistan Now: Culture and Design

Dezeen has teamed up with Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation (ACDF) to host a talk titled Uzbekistan Now: Culture and Design, coinciding with the preview of their exhibition When Apricots Blossom.
Moderated by Dezeen's editorial director Max Fraser, speakers will include designer Bethan Laura Wood, WHY Architecture principal Kulapat Yantrasast and ACDF chairperson Gayane Umerova.
Our panellists share their observations on Uzbekistan's cultural heritage and its evolving contemporary design scene.

Moooi and Superstudio Design opening party

Dezeen has teamed up with Moooi and Superstudio Design to co-host an exclusive opening party to kick off Milan design week.
Taking place at Superstudio Più, the party marks the opening of Moooi 25 and Promising, an immersive installation celebrating the Dutch brand's 25th anniversary that will encompass both new designs and iconic pieces.

Who were you aged 25? A panel of designers and forecasters reflect on their spirit at 25 and revisit a way of viewing the world to imagine what comes next.
Moderated by Dezeen's editorial director Max Fraser, the panel of speakers will include Moooi co-founder Marcel Wanders, Fuseproject founder Yves Béhar, trend forecaster Li Edelkoort and Studio Job founder Job Smeets.
The talk is in partnership with Moooi and is part of the Dutch brand's 25th anniversary presentation.

Material Futures: The Evolution of Hungarian Design

How are contemporary Hungarian designers navigating identity, responsibility and innovation within a rapidly changing global context? Our panellists discuss the evolution of Hungarian design in today's world.
Moderated by Dezeen's design and environment editor Jennifer Hahn, speakers will include Creative Hungary curator Hanna Imre, Sarakele Studio founder Sàra Kele and Kolassa Studio founder Jószef Kolassa.
The talk is in partnership with Creative Hungary and is part of the Budapest Selects exhibition, showcasing contemporary works from Hungarian designers.

The Art of Simplicity

In our relentlessly noisy digital age, Dezeen's editorial director Max Fraser explores British designer John Pawson's career, asking if simplicity is no longer a style but a radical design choice. In a culture built on more, this talk asks whether designing for less is the most powerful move we can make.
Titled The Art of Simplicity, the talk is in partnership with Gaggenau and is part of the German brand's Presence installation.

Design is an Act of Love

How might human-centred design impact the relationship between technology and everyday life? Dezeen's co-CEO Benedict Hobson will be in conversation with Samsung's chief design officer Mauro Porcini, exploring a vision of the near future based on the idea that technology should serve humanity.
The talk is in partnership with Samsung and is part of the brand's Design is an Act of Love installation.

Milan Minute
Date: 20 to 25 April
Dezeen is partnering with Trimble SketchUp on Milan Minute, a series of daily quick-fire video interviews with leading architects and designers.
The interviews, which will be done by Dezeen editorial director Max Fraser, deputy editor Cajsa Carlson, design and environment editor Jen Hahn and design and interiors reporter Jane Englefield, will be published daily during Milan desin week.

Videos spotlighting exhibitions and installations from across Milan
Dezeen Studio will be highlighting some of the best exhibitions and installations across the city through a series of videos in partnership with brands and organisations including Audi, Lexus, IKEA, Villeroy & Boch, Technogym and Uzbekistan Arts and Culture Development Foundation (pictured above). We'll also be producing videos of our talks with Samsung and Gaggenau.
