Promotion: Spanish brand Cosentino merges beauty, performance and sustainability with its latest mineral surface material, Éclos, designed to be free of crystalline silica and as elegant as natural stone.

Made using Cosentino's most advanced methods and decoration techniques, Éclos is a next-generation engineered stone with rich veining and patterning.

Thanks to the brand's proprietary Inlayr manufacturing process, this patterning runs through the slab, creating a natural and sophisticated aesthetic that is unbroken at the edges.

The company describes Éclos as an entirely new category of material, which it calls an "inlayered mineral surface". The designs are constructed in layers using advanced robotic engineering, giving them their remarkable depth and realism.

As well as visual impact, Éclos is designed for safety and sustainability, Cosentino explained. It has a zero crystalline silica formula that is favourable for installers during cutting, and a high percentage of recycled mineral content of close to 90 per cent for some colour options.

Éclos joins an expanding portfolio of low-silica, high-recycled mineral surfaces from Cosentino, including Silestone, Dekton and Sensa.

According to Cosentino, the development of Éclos involved 50 specialised researchers, more than 28,000 hours of research and over 1,500 hours of testing, reflecting the company's commitment to environmental protection and fabricator safety.

Éclos is suitable for both residential and commercial environments, and can be used on countertops, splashbacks, walls and other surfaces, bringing an elevated look and enjoyable tactility to every space it touches.

The first Éclos collection – Eclectic Veins – brings together 10 stone-like designs, ranging from ice-white styles to dramatic darks, by way of warm, earthy and biscuity bases.

Among the standouts is Legnd, a seductive golden brown shot through with spidery dark veins, giving a romantic and mystical feel, and Tajnar, a far-from-boring beige with dense, feathered patterning.

All of the colours in the collection incorporate a minimum of 50 per cent recycled materials, while some incorporate up to 88 per cent recycled content.

The material is durable, withstands everyday scratches and stains, and is easy to clean and maintain. It is also resistant to temperatures of up to 220 Degrees Celsius, including direct contact with cookware immediately after use, making it highly practical for kitchens.
