Thought Parallels Architecture has designed Ananda in Kerala, India.

Situated in a dense urban fabric and accessed via a narrow thoroughfare, Ananda's site offered limited opportunities for a conventional elevation.

"To address the lack of a clear vantage point, we shifted the visual focus upward, driving the eyes towards the roof," said Thought Parallels Architecture.

Consequently, the expansive overhanging roof serves as the primary design anchor, creating a riveting presence that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Named after a Sanskrit word translating as 'bliss', Ananda was designed for a couple based in the USA who desired a contemporary residence with airy interiors close to their ancestral home.
