Designed by Office Off Course, 123+ Growth Center is an education centre located in a shopping mall in Shanghai's Xuhui District.

For the project, the designers discussed how the space type could have a positive impact on the mode of education.

The learning place is not merely to impart knowledge. According to methodology developed by Maria Montessori, learning can be stimulated by the child's individual experiences and children learn best through their own direct sensory experiences of their world.

To achieve this, Office Off Course created an abstract space by avoiding elements from our everyday life. The studio instead created a new world where imagination is prodded when children investigate the space.

This project has been longlisted in the civic and cultural interior project category of Dezeen Awards 2020.
