AIM Architecture has designed Taoxichuan Hotel Unbound Collection by Hyatt in Jingdezhen, China.

This project is a tribute to the technique and experience of porcelain in the heart of its birthplace. The Taoxichuan Hotel has a very special story thanks to its strong cultural setting: nested in Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of the world, in a building designed by superstar architect David Chipperfield – where its porcelain heritage made Jingdezhen become one of China's top destinations.

Here, ceramic is commemorated in a way it has never been, expressing both as an honest material and exploring its versatility and power in interior design. The Taoxichuan Hotel, Unbound Collection by Hyatt seeks to unite raw and refinement, turning ceramics into architecture, interior, furniture, and patterns.

AIM’s design vision is focused on telling the porcelain story through the different production stages but also the rich variations of colours and textures – resulting in bold and unusual interior qualities.

This project has been longlisted in the hotel and short-stay interiors category of Dezeen Awards 2022.
