Skidmore, Owings & Merrill has renovated Corso Italia 23, a retrofitted office complex redefining sustainable workplace design while revitalising a historic urban block in Milan, Italy.
Located in central Milan, the 1960s Corso Italia 23 office complex has been reimagined through a sustainable retrofit that sensitively respects the original architecture by Ponti Fornaroli Rosselli with Piero Portaluppi.
The transformation introduces smart building systems and wellbeing features while integrating the campus with the city.
Inside, central hub spaces connect the office floors, offering diverse areas for focus and collaboration.
In addition, a 200-seat auditorium facilitates events, while outdoor spaces – including a courtyard and rooftop gardens – support user health and wellbeing whilst offering a peaceful retreat from Milan's bustling streets below.
This project has been longlisted in the sustainable renovation category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
