Sibling Architecture has designed the South East Centre for Contemporary Art (SECCA), a revitalised cultural hub in Bega, Australia.

The South East Centre for Contemporary Art revitalises the former Bega Valley Regional Gallery into a dynamic cultural hub, expanding spaces and enhancing connections to the town.

Extending into the former council chambers, the redevelopment introduces over 500 square metres of exhibition, archive and community spaces.

A new roof structure with south-facing skylights enhances natural lighting, while climate control systems enable international touring exhibitions.

The textured aluminium facade integrates display vitrines, extending exhibitions into the public realm.

Complemented by an upgraded civic forecourt with endemic landscaping and urban furniture, SECCA fosters stronger connections between the local community, the wider nation and the global arts scene.

This project has been longlisted in the cultural project category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
