Nikolova/Aarsø has designed Tversted House, a bio-based home and ceramic atelier in Tversted, Denmark.
Tversted House by Nikolova/Aarsø is a 200 square metre newly built home located in the Danish coastal landscape and built on a groundbreaking foundation without concrete or steel, minimising environmental impact.
The architecture is composed of three interlocking volumes: The Lookout Tower, The Living and The Ceramics Workshop, each with distinct functions forming a cohesive and sculptural whole.
The house is built entirely without concrete or steel and rests on a foundation of recycled cellular glass.
Above ground, a wooden structure and exclusively bio-based materials are used to create a tactile and harmonious atmosphere as well as to minimise environmental impact.
This project has been longlisted in the sustainable building category of Dezeen Awards 2025.
